ABOUT OLGA BATYRSHINA
The education received in the field of architecture and design has influenced the topics covered by Olga Batyrshina. In the centre of the artist's work lies a soulless urban territory surrounding us. People create an unnatural, alienated environment with their own hands, in which they are then forced to exist. This new ecosystem aggressively built and developed by man transforms into multimillion megacities, with uniform buildings, sleeping quarters, gigantic factories and plants disfiguring the landscape. All of these causes the transformation of the natural ecosystem into artificial, as well as the genesis of a so-called "new nature". This is the main subject of Olga's creative research which she explores by means of mixed media and photography.
